Duncan Goodhew is as instantly recognisable as he is charming; having swum with Duncan in Windermere before, he was kind enough to stop for a chat at the Great North Swim 2012.

Duncan Goodhew won his Gold medal for Great Britain in the 100m breaststroke at the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games; he was a ‘star’ of the generation and hasn't stopped using winning ways to benefit others.

Big Winter Windermere Swim with a local flavour

A local relay team swam the whole length of Windermere in just seven hours last Saturday (March 24).

Open water swimming fanatic Mike Hicks from Windermere had a dream to swim the length Windermere in winter with friends, training throughout the winter in temperatures down to 3 degrees C,  a relay team started to emerge with a real local flavour.

The 2012 Olympic Games in London will see Team GB swimmer Keri-Anne Payne take to the open water in Hyde Park for the 10k Open Water Swim marathon.

A Beijing Olympics 2008 Silver medallist and double Open Water World Cup Gold medallist, Keri-Anne Payne is not only our only open water competitor, but she is also the firm favourite to take gold.
